Welcome!

Welcome to Narayani Yoga!
Narayani is the female aspect of the deity Vishnu in Hinduism and another name for the Goddess Durga. This goddess is known to “expose consciousness” and represents the feminine power of the Divine energy in the world.
My name is Meagan Terry, and I have been practicing yoga and meditation in some form since 2005 when I discovered how stress and anxiety dissolved every time I showed up in my body. I completed my 200-hour RYT training in Hatha Yoga with the International Sivananda Vedanta Yoga Center at the beautiful and magical Yoga Retreat in the Bahamas. Sivananda yoga focuses on the holistic health and well-being of all practitioners and connects mind-body-spirit through a sequence of pranayama (breathing exercises), asanas (physical postures), and savasana (deep relaxation).
My core yoga philosophy is that yoga is for every body, no matter shape, size, age, or physical abilities. In the classes I teach, I ensure that every position can be modified to meet one’s ability and needs, and offer alternatives for almost every posture. Even if you lie in savasana (the resting pose on your back) the entire class you are doing yoga if you are aware of your breath! I love sharing the philosophy and practice of yoga on and off the mat or cushion, and hope for everyone to find peace and balance in their lives through their practice. Every time you practice yoga you are planting seeds of potential within yourself and cultivating the art of letting go.
I am happy to share with you through this website my own personal yoga journey through my blog, ways to deepen the mind-body connection for a more balanced, peaceful, and happy you, and how to find me in a class in Houston! I look forward to hearing from you or seeing you on our mats very soon.
Om.
Meagan
